
Segni had been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Runner of the Week on Monday. On Friday, Segni ran a personal-best time of 25:15.5 at the Metropolitan Championships, an event which was held at Van Cortlandt Park. The time was good for second place among 165 finishers, and he led the Red Foxes to a second-place team finish, their best finish at the event.
Segni also posted the second-best time in school history at Van Cortlandt Park. Segni shared the ECAC award with Syracuse's Jeff Scull, whose third-place finish among 209 runners led the Orange to a first-place finish at the National Open hosted by Penn State.
