Men’s cross country tunes up for MAAC Championships

Several members of the Marist College men’s cross country team traveled to Van Cortlandt Park for a three-way meet with Iona College and Manhattan College on a soggy Tuesday afternoon. The meet served as a tuneup for next Friday’s MAAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.

The men finished with 32 points, ahead of Iona (46) and Manhattan (53). The men ran an abbreviated 3,000-meter course, with several runners posting personal-best times. Junior David Raucci (Clermont, NY) was third overall out of 29 runners in the race in 8:40.

Freshman Conor Shelley (Rockville Centre, NY) followed closely behind with a personal-record time of 8:43. Freshman Mike Cator (Ridgewood, NJ) was sixth in a personal-best 8:51. Junior Tom Williams (Pleasant Valley, NY) was ninth in a personal-best time of 9:05. Junior Mike Rolek (Maplewood, NJ) followed in 10th in 9:06.

The men return to action on Friday, Oct. 27, at the MAAC Championships at VCP.
