John Hutton Elected As YMCA President


(Newburgh) - The Newburgh Family YMCA recently elected Board of Directors leadership for the upcoming year.

John Hutton, Riverside Bank, was elected President; William Whalen, Finnegan’s Moving and Warehouse, Vice President; Ralph R. Mills, Abbott & Mills Oil Heat, Treasurer and Greer Cooper, Orange Works One Stop Career, Secretary.
Hutton accepted the gavel from Herbert Lorenz, outgoing President. Two new Board members were also elected - Kurt Najork and Timothy Scannell.

Najork, is the Operations Coordinator at Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley, Inc., a third generation family owned business in Newburgh since 1974. A graduate of Bucknell University with a B.A. in Economics, he was a dual-sport varsity athlete and coached rowing at the University of Colorado for four years before returning to the area. Najork lives in Milton and will serve on the Finance and Fund Development Committees.

Scannell, a graduate of Northeastern University, is the Chief Financial Officer of Mobile Life Support Services in Newburgh and has been with the organization since 1993. He lives in Wallkill with his wife Jennifer and their two daughters, Samantha and Sydney. Scannell will serve on the Finance and Marketing Committees.
