Marist Volleyball Shuts Out Hartford

Red Foxes Return To Winning Ways

(Poughkeepsie) – The Marist women’s volleyball team posted a 3-0 shutout against Hartford in a non-conference contest at the McCann Center on Tuesday. The Red Foxes won by scores of 32-30, 30-19, 30-27.

Freshman setter Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J.) had 28 assists and five digs for the Red Foxes. Seniors Jaime Kenworthy (Aston, Pa.) and Sally Hanson (Guerneville, Calif.) paced the Red Foxes with nine kills apiece, and Hanson hit .412 for the match. Senior libero Stefanie Miksch (Austin, Texas) led Marist with 12 digs on the evening.

Marist won its fifth match in its last six outings, and improved to 9-15 overall.

Jennifer Monroy led Hartford with a team-high 15 kills to go along with 10 digs, which tied for the team best with Lauren Flores.

The Red Foxes will return to action on Saturday, when they travel to Buffalo to take on Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Canisius at 2 p.m. The Golden Griffins won the season’s first meeting on Sept. 17 by a score of 3-0. Marist currently sits in fifth place in the MAAC with a conference record of 6-8.
