An estimated 1.5 million Americans will be diagnosed with diabetes this year, and diabetes already affects nearly 21 million adults and children in the U.S. With vigilance, awareness of family medical history and simple lifestyle changes, diabetes patients can avoid medical complications and live healthy, full lives.
Funding for the Diabetes Forum was provided in part by the NYS Department of Health’s Office of Rural Health.
For more information on all the programs and services available to diabetes patients and their families, please contact Liz Phillips, Manager of Health Education Services, at 914-734-8612.
