Funds Secured for Churches

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) has successfully obtained funding for several area church organizations. “I am pleased to have been able to advocate on behalf of our very worthy church groups,” said Senator Larkin. “The faith of the parishioners and all the good works they perform in our local communities is deserving of all of our support. It is my hope that these grants will help them continue to make a difference in our local neighborhoods and in our families.” Senator Larkin secured $20,000 for Newburgh’s Church of Saint Patrick Soup Kitchen toward the purchase of a van; $10,000 for St. James’ Episcopal Church in Goshen for repairs to the roof of its parish hall; $35,000 for Baptist Temple Church in Newburgh for building improvements that will allow for a community-based day care and senior citizen’s program; and $15,000 for King of Kings Lutheran Church in New Windsor to assist its building expansion and the paving of its parking lot both used by scout groups, AA and Al-Anon, Orange County Victims of Violence, the YWCA, a pre-school program, and community concerts.
