Mojoe The Band

Mojoe, the band personally hand-picked by Mathew (Beyonce’s Dad) Knowles to be on his new Music World record label, will be releasing their debut album on September 12th.

A cool mix of hip hop, jazz, blues and poetry, Mojoe is part of the post hip-hop era, started by groups like Outkast and growing with the likes of Gnarls Barkley. They don’t just lean on one sound, but bring together the history of African American music into one place.

They’re as cool, intelligent and endearing as their songs are. They talk about their place in musical history, how hip hop continues to morph into creatively and commercially successful offshoots, and their place in the current wave of the new breed of hip hop acts. And of course, how it feels to have Mathew Knowles take them under his wing.
