Ebony Fashion Fair’s “Stylishly Hot”

(Poughkeepsie) - The fashions this season are Hot!..Stylishly Hot on stage at Poughkeepsie High School, May and Forbus Streets, on Wednesday, September 27, 8 p.m. The 49th annual production of Ebony Fashion Fair is sponsored locally by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for the benefit of the AKA Community Scholarship Fund.
The latest fashions shown for the 2006-07 season are fashion forward, trendsetting and on fire. Italian designer Angelo Marani ignites the fire with a flame-embellished trumpet gown and matching flame ombre fox cape that scorches the runway with sizzling hot style. Vivienne Westwood and Carolina Herrera give stylish detailing to the shapes of their voluminous ball gowns. Beads and bangles with shimmering golden or silvery highlights create sparkling details in the collections of Oscar de la Renta and Bill Blass. Designer Zang Toi sets fashion detailing ablaze with a “Stylishly Hot” black velvet collection. Although black dominates the color palette, it is the attention that designers give to details that dominates the Fashion buzz from Paris to London and New York to Milan. The haute couture and ready-to-wear ensembles showcased in the 49th Ebony Fashion Fair are more than just elegant and finer than fine. They are Stylishly Hot. Thirteen magnificent models, eleven women and two men, will don the breakthrough designs.
