Hospital receives a large donation

(Newburgh) - More than 500 friends of St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital gathered the evening of September 9th on the Cornwall-on-Hudson waterfront, for the hospital Foundation’s annual gala. The celebration, which raised more than $300,000 to support the hospital’s strategic initiatives, was sponsored and supported by hundreds of individuals and businesses throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley. Major funders included Key Bank, N.A. and the SLCH Medical Staff (a complete list is posted on www.stlukescornwallhospital.org. the hospital’s website.

In welcoming the gala guests, Richard O’Beirne, Chair of the SLCH Board of Trustees, commented on the remarkable evolution of the hospital and the people - physicians, staff, and community members - who are making it happen. “I hope you share my pride in all that’s been accomplished,” said O’Beirne, referring to the new facilities, programs, and services the hospital is bringing to the region. “Together, we are fulfilling SLCH’s unwavering commitment to provide comprehensive, quality care 24/7, and to maintain the financial stability necessary to do so.”

By year end, SLCH will open a 42,000-square-foot medical office building and same-day surgery center in Cornwall, an interventional radiology suite and multi-level parking garage in Newburgh, and a Center for Rehabilitation and physicians’offices in New Paltz. Over the past year, the hospital earned designation as a stroke center, opened the Kreisberg Family Center for Pain Management, brought computerized joint replacement surgery and other advanced technology to our region, and enhanced patient satisfaction through a number of customer service initiatives.
